what made you interested in this then?
This is probably one of the most common questions people have been asking me in the shop. And when people ask me how I became to love all things old and Vintage I explain that I can not ever remember not being interested in it so its difficult for me to say exactly. One person responsible for some of the blame! has to go to my mum, She has always has a sharp eye for the unusual and wonderful, and is a keen history buff so I know I inherited a lot of it from her. While looking through some photos lately I found one which brought a smile to my face. Now this is a very rare occurrence (I hate having my photo took, let alone posting them on the Internet!) but here is a photo of me, I believe I am about 8/9 and had probably been down to the jumble sale that day. (Yes I was the kid that brought all the strange items! I rarely came home with toys). I really miss jumble sales, It was something I really enjoyed when I was little, all these wonderful things that people didn't want, even the queuing to get in part where all the old ladies jostled for a space near the door & and the rush when the door finally opened, every bodies heads turning trying to work out where to start! Anyway here is the piccy,. PS. I don't wear glasses, I obviously purchased them just for my ensemble!

Is anyone like me?
Are you like me? Do you drool over the gorgeous Vintage finds the lucky people in the USA seem to come across everyday. I regularly visit blogs and delight in drooling over there finds. Its not always easy but there are Vintage goodies to find here in the UK if you are prepared to look hard enough. I regularly find items at estate sales and auctions which I pick up for the shop, I neglect talking about these items and I think it needs to be corrected!!! To be honest they sell so quickly I rarely get the time to get the items online, and one of the reasons we love Vintage sooooo much is because you can not easily find another. But in order to fly the flag for our Vintage British finds I am hoping to regularly post my goodies on my blog (and website if they hang around long enough!)
These are items that I have picked up in the last 2 weeks. I love this little elf soap dish, I am not convinced it is that old but to sweet to pass up. I always love the colours in vintage board games and childrens books and couldnt resist this Tiddly Winks game. And look aat that glamourous lady on the knitting pattern! oh la la!! The set of Tumblers are late 50's/60's and I always seem to be drawn to anything in that era (I think I was born too late!) and I just love this 50's swan planter. I have seen loads of the modern ones but the colours in this vintage swan are so soft and the porcelain is so muted it just yummy! If anybody knows anything about the small dog ashtray let me know, its such a lovely colour and so dinky.

Sorry for the delay!
Hi everybody, so sorry for neglecting my blog, Its been fairly busy here at Vintage Attic, with new stock arriving daily. I have been planning for Christmas so anyone with any ideas I would be glad to hear them. I am hoping to have a large event with lots going on, this should happen on 15th Nov so make that a date to remember! For anybody that doesn't know I design a range of stamps for a company called Personal Impressions, but as an avid hand stitcher have been meaning for sometime, to stitch a design up as a cute stitchery. I thought this design which is part of my new Christmas collection would look lovely stitched up. If anybody makes it up i would love to see it, please e-mail me at katie@vintageattic.co.uk if you have any piccys.
